No doubt, we humans are the most intelligent creatures on this planet. Humans have done all the inventions and discoveries. But our body has hundreds of facts hidden inside it. Don’t you think our body is a weird machinery? So here is a list of amazing fun facts about human body.

1.  We think genes are important to humans and animals only but it is worth noticing that corn flakes contain more genes than we humans have.

2.  Normal temperature of human body is 37 degree Celsius.

3.  Have you ever thought why men testicles hang freely outside the body? Our body temperature is high for sperms. The temperature of scrotum is 36 degree Celsius which is lower than body. Sperms lose motility at high temperature.

4.  You should love your chin. You know why? Because only humans have chins. How amazing is that.

5.  We think places like toilets, bus stations, and dust bins etc. are full of bacteria. But this funny fact about human body will definitely put you in a state of shock. Our mouth contain more bacteria than the total number of people in the world.

6.  Well, even the largest cell in human body is not visible to naked eye. But unfortunately it’s wrong. The largest cell in female body is ovum. In case of males, neuron is the largest cell.

7.  The longest cell in human body is neuron. Nerve cells can be up to 3 feet long.

8.  If you are a Medical students than you know that there is a gland in our body having shape similar to pine nut. Yes, that’s right. It is pineal gland. These glands secret melatonin hormone.

9.  Do you know how many times human heart beat? During the average lifespan of human, heart beats approximately 3 billion times. Actually it’s less than I think.

10.  It is a myth that fingernails grow after death. Honestly they don’t grow after death.

11.  Although we have two nostrils but they both work in shifts. Air go in and out of only one nostril at a time, during this time second nostril take rest. The shift changes every few hours.

12.  All of us know that our body has two kidneys. This is even more interesting that we can live a healthy life with just one kidney.

29. Human tongue is made up of eight muscles with structure similar to that of an elephant’s trunk.

53.  Liver is the largest internal organ of our body. It can be equal to the size of a football. Liver has regeneration power. It is also responsible for the production of haemoglobin and red blood cells. Liver also removes toxic from human body.

54.  The shortest bone in human body is stapes and it is present in the ear. Stapes is only 0.25 cm long. It is so small that even a grain of rice is bigger than it.

55. Humans can blink their eyes more than 1000 times in one day. The muscles that help in blink of eye are the fastest muscles in human body. These muscles are so fast that you can blink five times in one second.

56.  The word “muscle” originate from the Latin word “Musculus”which means mouse.

57.  How much time a person spend sleeping in his life? An average human spend around 33 percent part of his life sleeping.

58.  Color blindness is a genetic problem in which a person cannot see certain colors. Color blindness is of three types.

59.  Humans eat 30 tons of food during lifetime.

60.  We know snakes shed their skin after two times a year. Likewise human get new epidermis layer every 30 days.

61.  Nail biting is a psychological problem. The medical term for this problem is “Onychophagia”.

75.  Momnesia or pregnancy brain is a condition in which brain of a pregnant woman get shrink. Pregnancy doesn’t change your brain. Although women become forgetful during gestation.

76.  The daily activities causes cartilage in our knees to shrink a little. While at night it goes back to its normal relax state. That’s why we feel slightly taller in morning than at night.

77.  In starvation body cells begin to eat other cells. This process is called Autophagy. Moreover, dieting provoke brain cells to eat themselves.

78.  “Lung” is a German word meaning light.

79.  Why listening to music feels so good? The reason is our heart beat sync with the rhythm.

80. In humans, left kidney is slightly higher in position than the right one.

81.  Human brain can survive about six minutes without oxygen. When the heart stops the cardiopulmonary resuscitation diminish due to which brain cells begin to die after six minute.

83.  There is a part of human body which get no blood supply. This part is cartilage, it survives wholly on oxygen.

84.  Belly button is home to approximately 67 species of bacteria.

85.  Humans cannot eat and breathe simultaneously.
