Smallest province

Phuket is Thailand’s second smallest province. It has an area of 576 square kilometres. Phuket island was a major trade centre between India and china. Phuket has an international airport that has flights on a daily basis to major cities in Asia.

James Bond Island

Khao Phing Kan or sometimes referred to as Ko Ta Pu has two forest covered islands with sandy beaches and caves. This Island is also known as James Bond Island because it was appeared in James Bond movie, “The Man with the Golden Gun”.

Big Buddha Phuket

Phukets Big Buddha is one of the most famous landmarks of the island. This site offers a 360-degree view of the whole island. The shortened name of this statue is  Ming Mongkol Buddha

This statue was built in 2004 and it is 45 metres tall. Right next to the main Buddha there is small Buddha made from brass.

This festival is known as Nine Emperor God Festival in China. The purpose of this festival is to pay tribute to nine emperor god by practicing abstaining from meat to attain good health and peaceful mind.

Patong Beach

Patong beach is located on west coast of Phuket, Thailand. It is the main tourist resort with shopping markets, numerous hotels, cafes and bar.

Patong beach is well-known for its nightlife. It’s a white sandy beach with good conditions for swimming. Although Phuket has 30 beaches but Patong is number one.

The word Patong means a forest filled with banana trees but funny enough there are no banana leaves left on this beach.

Loy Krathong is known as the festival of light. It was invented in Sukhothai, Bangkok. The word Krathong means a banana trunk piece decorated with candles and flowers and banana leaves. So this festival is floating banana trunk festival.

People buy decorative baskets and then float them down into the river. According to Thais, this bring good luck.

Loy Krathong is celebrated under the the full moon on the last month of Thai calendar.

Coral Island Phuket

Coral island or Koh Hae in Thai is located in Phuket, Thailand. It is famous for its two stunning beaches,

  • The Banana Beach

The island got its name coral Island because of Coral Reefs present there. So the island also offer snorkeling.
